Anyone who claims not to be interested in other people's sex lives is a liar. So there. We very honestly asked our lifebyte housers to keep a Christmas shag diary. click here

To fill you in on who's who, who's been up to what and who's hoping on getting up to what...

Derby House

Rhys, 23, Social Services
To say he's just come out of a three-year relationship, Rhys isn't too upset: 'We'd grown apart; I'm alright about it.' He says he has sex 'as much as I can; when I do get it.' He reckons responsibility for contraception is down to both sexes, but his favoured meth
od is the women's pill (don't think it'll work for you, Rhys). He's cagey when asked if he's ever had an STI: 'I'd rather not comment'; but was quite happy to disclose that he's had 'quite a few partners – ten plus'. The kinky stuff? 'I've never indulged in S&M but I do indulge in M&S quite often – I love their prawn sarnies.' [Boom boom.] He puts a successful relationship down to 'friendship, trust and big genitals'. We get the feeling he wasn't taking our in-depth research too seriously.

Steve, 23, Retail assistant
Steve is currently single after splitting up with his last girlfriend a year ago – he reckons it was mutual: 'we drifted apart' [that old one again]. He normally practises safe sex although he has indulged in the unsafe variety on occasions. When asked if he'd ever gone in for the kinky, S&M or bondage lark, he says 'afraid not'. And he hasn't had any STIs he's admitting to. He rates 'loyalty and trust' high on the list of attributes for a good partnership.
So does Steve have high hopes for copping off this year? Click here to find out

Dan, 25, Personal Assistant, Social Services
Single Dan split up with his last girlfriend six months ago after three and a half years. 'It was a mutual break-up, due to distance,' he says. 'She lived in Manchester.' He tries to have safe sex but admits it doesn't always happen. 'When I'm pissed it sometimes goes out the window.' [Er, the safe sex we think he means.] Yes, we've all been there. He hasn't indulged in a threesome or group sex 'yet - I'm still waiting'. Neither has he done bondage or anything very naughty - 'and I haven't had an STI before you ask...' He calls the secret of lasting love 'truth and honesty' – wise words.
