It
had been cloudy but by the end of the afternoon, a few golden rays started to
break through and suddenly it was sunny in more ways than one. Emma and Steve's
hard graft had paid off and the roof was looking fantastic.
Sitting
there in the sunshine we all decided a celebration was in order so we bribed someone
to go to the supermarket to stock up on tacos, fajitas, tortilla chips, guacamole
and salsa, and of course plenty of liquid refreshment in the shape of cereveza
and tequila. I donned my frilly skirt, dug out the maracas and a few cheesy Salsa
CDs. And as the sun went down, we partied on into the night to the strains of
Lonyo's 'Summer of Love' (mucho Latino), downing slammers and munching nachos
- I could've been right back in Playa del Carmen (well, that Cuervo was bloody
strong).
