Peoplebank.co.uk

When you register with www.peoplebank.co.uk you are allocated a number that disguises your personal identity, this means that when employers look at your CV your educational history and work experience will be the only personal details online. A further protection is the reference to companies you’ve worked for by their size rather than name. If a company shows interest in you, then Peoplebank will release your personal details to them but only after you have given your consent. Peoplebank encourage you to keep your details up to date even if you aren’t looking for a job – this is to ensure that your chances of being head hunted are greater.

Fish4jobs.co.uk

This site is pretty much a large database of jobs and is updated weekly. From Dustman to IT director, www.fish4jobs.co.uk contains 125,000 job vacancies to suit everyone. Security is not an issue because if you see a job that you want it’s up to you to send your CV directly to the company. Much more user directed than the dynamic Peoplebank but this approach has more informal advantages and allows you to take more responsibility for your search.

Reed online

You can place your CV online without any security worries, personal details will only be seen by Reed’s recruitment specialists. But… there is a catch – if you don’t tick the box at the very bottom of the registration page, you’re giving Reed consent to disclose your personal data to aid the recruitment process. If you do tick the box they will not pass your personal details on to any third parties without your consent. For safe, convenient job hunting, you don’t actually have to email your CV to Reed, and like Fish4jobs it’s possible to surf their website until you see something that takes your fancy. For more information look at Reed’s privacy policy http://www.reed.co.uk

One final note to bear in mind is that online recruitment still only accounts for 3 per cent of the permanent recruitment market in the UK. So if they haven’t found you a job, it’s probably because they don’t have any in that sector.
