What
exactly is astrology? The dictionary describes it
as: 'the study of the motions and relative positions
of the planets, sun and moon, interpreted in terms
of human characteristics and activities.' So the
astrologer's job is to watch these heavenly developments
and decide how they're going to affect us.
Think about the exact moment of your birth that second when you took your first breath: all the planets and stars were in a specific location in the heavens. Those closest to the earth at the time exert the greatest influence and energy over the way your life develops, whilst those further away have a weaker, but still significant, influence.
All the planets and stars have their own characteristics and energies, and it's these that govern the things we do from how we express ourselves, to the career choices we make, the lovers we choose and even how much money we make.
You know when you're reading your horoscope, it always goes on about the moon in Saturn or something, and you just skip that bit cos you just want to get onto the love-life bit, well, those planet bits are important too. For example, the sun influences our energy, self-expression and passion, while the moon governs our emotions (that's why we all go a bit loopy at full moon). Venus represents love and how we behave in relationships; Mars governs action, assertion and energy.
So how do you get into the world of astrology? Well. the first step is to develop an interest in it. If you're really interested, it'll be a hobby to read books all about it, then to learn to draw up birth charts for friends and relatives and see how accurate you can be. It'll be fun, and you'll never have been so popular.
It's a fact that loads of celebs and movers and shakers of the world consult their personal astrologer before making any major decision when to tour, election dates, whether to make that major move or not.
The next step is to offer your services as a professional astrologer. Approach
your local newspaper, or any magazines you think
may be interested (freebies are a good place to
start) and see if they'll let you do a column. Or
why not try to get an astrology spot on your local
radio station. For more clever ideas, click

services and build up a base of personal clients
word of mouth is the best advertisement you'll
ever get. Who knows, you could end up being astrologer
to the rich and famous. For our top five astrologers
