It's an unauthorised biography that promises more than most. Needing a court case to clear the path to publication, Princess Posh and her flaxen-haired consort come under the scrutiny of master bean-spiller Andrew Morton.

The minutiae of Posh n Becks's life is picked over in gloriously gossipy detail. Numerous who wears the trousers incidents appear, and rivalries are cooked up; Posh takes on Fergie, while the Beckhams Senior bicker over the wedding with the Adams family.

Unfortunately for Morton, though, his subjects have a definite lack of skeletons in their closet. Sure, Victoria's weight problem and David's World Cup travails are worth a mention, but they're not exactly news. Where are the massive bust-ups, infidelities and criminal activities? The Beckhams' biggest excesses come in the form of credit card bills.

Reading Posh & Becks is rather like hearing neighbours gossiping over a fence — lots of whispered insinuations, but nothing you don't know (or suspect) already.
