sarah's story - blind date - lifebyte

Sarah's side of the story

'First impressions were all right, after the wait. I didn't really judge him on first glance but he was obviously nice and very friendly. I didn't like his shoes, though. I know it's a terrible thing to say, but they were just these brown suede Hush Puppy-type things. And his hair looked a bit too gelled as well. I'm sorry [Don't apologise, it's a good way to judge a man - dodgy shoes say a lot], but I'm kind of sensitive to that sort of thing.

'After we got to the park - and even before - we didn't really have any problems with conversation. Because we're both quite creative - Hugh with his music - we seemed to have quite a lot in common. It went really fluently. We talked about travel, family, being single - all sorts of stuff.

'Then at the end of the date Hugh suggested swapping phone numbers, so we did.'

And..?

'I'd definitely go out with him for another drink, but nothing more. He's a really nice person but I can't say I was hugely sexually attracted. Then there were the shoes, of course, ha ha. I will say that the setting was really nice, especially with the music and everything.'

So Sarah, are we looking at a slow-burn scenario here, perhaps?

'Well, I'm going to Brazil for two months in September, so I'm not exactly going to be available from then.'

Hmmmm, Playing hard to get, are we? We'll just see about that...
