edinburgh - blind date - lifebyte

OK, it wasn't the Highlands, it was Edinburgh and we're not telling you if our latest blind daters had a fling or not - you'll have to read on to find out.

The scene was set: the heart of deepest Edinburgh, known in these parts as Old Town, where the medieval buildings cling to the steep rock with the Castle at the top end and the Palace at the bottom. A mecca for tourists, but also some of the coolest shops and best restaurants around.

Amy and Andy met in EH1, a stylish bar on the Royal Mile, the old high street, where they had a vodka and bitter lemon and a pint to steady their nerves and get the evening on the right track.

Amy, 22, a student, who's lived in Edinburgh for about a year and said she was expecting to 'meet someone new and have a good dinner,' (cheeky madam). Hobbies are clubbing and going out when she has the money and she likes men 'with a sense of humour who laugh a lot'.

Andy, 22, also a student, said he was on the date 'for a bit of a laugh' and likes women with 'good looks, a lively personality and a hint of intelligence. I prefer blondes to brunettes' - they don't ask for much, do they, users? He's lived in Edinburgh for two years and loves it. He likes playing alternative Frisbee for Edinburgh Uni and clubbing.
